Why You Should Go Tankless

Tankless water heaters, also known as on-demand water heaters, have been around for nearly 100 years. The technology dates back to 1924, when German inventor Dr. Theodor Stiebel developed his first electric water-heating technology; by 1927, the first small instantaneous water heater was in production. Unlike traditional water heaters that constantly heat and store a tank of water, tankless systems heat water only when you need it. When you turn on a hot-water fixture, the unit detects the flow and activates its heating system, heating the incoming water as it passes through. The result is hot water on demand without maintaining a large tank of heated water.

Benefits of Going Tankless

  • Endless Hot Water – Enjoy a continuous supply of hot water without waiting for a storage tank to refill.
  • Lower Energy Usage – Tankless systems heat water only when it’s needed, eliminating the energy used to constantly keep a tank of water hot.
  • Save Space – Compact, wall-mounted units take up significantly less space than traditional tank water heaters.
  • Longer Lifespan – Properly maintained tankless systems can have a significantly longer service life than traditional tank units.
  • Hot Water on Demand – Water is heated as it flows through the unit, so you don't have to wait for a tank to heat back up.
  • Great for Larger Households – Properly sized systems can provide hot water for multiple showers and appliances at the same time.
  • Less Standby Energy Loss – Unlike a traditional tank, there isn't a large volume of hot water sitting unused.
  • Flexible Installation Options – Many models can be installed indoors or outdoors, depending on the unit and home.
  • Smart Technology – Select models offer Wi-Fi connectivity, monitoring, scheduling, and recirculation features.
  • Reduced Risk of Tank Leaks – With no large storage tank holding dozens of gallons of water, there's less risk of a tank failure causing a major water leak.
